After a year of not writing any new articles, I have decided to refocus the website on its original purpose, which is to provide an accessible catalog of YHWH’s laws. To this end, the old front page has been returned. For the time being, this blog appears to be inaccessible. At some [...]

It has been one busy month around here since my last post. From mid-July to mid-August my family moved from a small three-bedroom apartment to a large four-bedroom house in the country. We kept our business going without closing it to move, so I moved while my wife maintained the business work flow.
Then, a week [...]

My last post was on July 6. It must have seemed as though this weblog was abandoned. Actually, major activities have filled my personal life lately. I moved my family to a house with twice the square footage that we had before, so we are not cramped any more. This move was made more urgent [...]

I spent the last week on computer upgrades worth $2500 but costing nothing. I swapped out two desktops for two laptops, and installed the Edubuntu operating system on all four plus a third laptop. We now have four laptops fully loaded, and two desktops for sale. Loading the operating system on the first four computers [...]

Kind David, the second king of Israel, was a musician who created a large liturgy of song. Mixed in with songs of others, his songs are found in the 150 Psalms which are accepted as inspired by Jews, Muslims, and Christians. They have been sung since David’s time in various settings. The early Protestant Reformation [...]

It has been eight busy days since the last post, and it will likely be eight more busy days before the next one. This is just an update to let people know that I am still here. I will hopefully have more content after next week.

Since upgrading to the latest version of Wordpress, my comments section is broken. If anyone leaves comments, they go into a queue which I don’t seem able to access at this time. Thus I can’t approve them. Until I get this fixed, I encourage interested people to e-mail me rather than leaving a comment. The [...]

When I was an early teenager, I was shocked at the news of “satanic ritual abuse” being reported by media and also dramatized in paperback books written as exposés. I determined at that time that when I grew up I would become a super hero and rescue the poor victims and bring street justice to [...]

One of the most common criticisms that skeptics raise against the Bible is that it is self-contradictory. Being a big fan of logic, I used to spend a lot of time and thought trying to reconcile these perceived contradictions. Then I became an entrepreneur. Studying books and articles about business, I learned that the most [...]

I finished cleaning up some coding problems on the Bible pages, and in doing so discovered that three pages had been blank. 2 Chronicles 1, Joel 4, and Matthew 24 were empty files. Those have been fixed so now, to the best of my knowledge, the Bible pages are complete and error-free.

I have found that when I attempt to do something very difficult, it often leads me to an epiphany of innovation and invention. There are always ways to make difficult tasks easy, and if a way doesn’t exist now, it will as soon as enough people face the problem and decide to invent a [...]

The other day I learned about the existence of Freegans. These are 21st century hippies based in New York City, what I would call ecologically sensitive economists. Or in their own words,
Freegans are people who employ alternative strategies for living based on limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of [...]

Having operated a service business for almost three years, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that you can’t control your business results if you don’t know your business results. I didn’t start with standard business software, preferring to create my own custom solutions as each need arose. I built spreadsheets as I [...]

Ecc 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
I have been on a deeper exploration of web design lately, and the deeper I get in my learning, the more deficiencies I see in [...]

I am experimenting with Google Adsense as a way to add value to this website. Since I don’t know everything or everyone, the Google ads provide access to outside resources, many of which I haven’t reviewed. Some of them look great, some look questionable. They are all generated by an algorithm that [...]

Nobody is perfect. Not inventors, not statesmen, not writers or publishers. Not philosophers, not theologians, not thinkers or doers of any sort. Life does not require perfection. If it did, we’d all be in trouble. Great writers don’t write things perfectly the first time (unless they’re Mozart). They are [...]

I found a website that offers a number of html Bible downloads, in a variety of translations and versions. The idea is that you can download one to your computer, and then upload it to your website, and have a Bible on your website. Being a quintessential collector, I couldn’t resist giving it [...]

Before my switch to linux, my free bible software of choice was the so-called Online Bible (named before the Internet, and the name just stuck). I loved using it because it had more features than most packages that cost money that I’ve seen, and it had a lot of add-on modules (I filled a CD [...]

After a great deal of work (and orders of magnitude increase in efficient processes), all of the site pages on www.commandmentsofyhwh.org are xhtml compliant, and I have navigation links on all the pages so almost every page on this site is only one click away from almost every other page. The major exceptions are the [...]
